With the Domino switch wired up and the new carb installed I figured it was a good time to get the Domino quick throttle mounted up. In order to get this working I had to make a custom cable between the throttle and the Y connector. I have zero experience with this, but thanks to another member on Aprilia Forum I had the right tools and a good idea how to go about it.</div>

Since upgrading the Bats Proven Performance Package from the Rose TP kit to the 85 Maxi kit we haven't addressed our outdated carb setup so we ordered a Polini setup to try. I love the packaging on the Polini parts and I can only imagine what it would be like to visit a motorcycle shop with a whole Polini aisle full of these parts! For the BPPP we are going with the Polini CP 21mm carb, Polini 360 intake kit, cable choke kit, and jet kits for main and pilot.</div>

Just like the lever choke on the previous Dellorto 21mm setup, I wanted to have the choke in the original location. The most elegant and simple solution was to machine the included bracket to fit behind a clutch cover case bolt just below the OEM Choke decal. I am trying to create a synergy between the best and rarest of the OEM Aprilia with the best and thought out performance upgrades. What do you think?</div>

With all these "big" bike projects taking up my time these days, it's been hard to find time for my Ultimate Aprilia RS50 build TT. I've been gathering parts for the next wave of upgrades on TT and finally got around to starting some of the projects today. </div>
<div class="mobile-photo">
<br /></div>
<div class="mobile-photo">
First up was figuring out the wiring for a Domino start/stop switch to replace the stock controls which are integrated into the stock throttle assembly. This is necessary for the next upgrade which will be a Domino quick turn throttle. Since TT has only 1800 original miles and the wiring is in pristine condition, I don't want to hack and splice into the OEM wiring. In order to accomplish this I intend to utilize an old set of OEM controls and cannibalize the plugs so I can solder them onto the Domino wiring which will plug into the stock harness. Step one was reviewing the Aprilia RS50 wiring diagram and inspecting the Domino switches to figure out how to splice this all together. Next step was labeling and taping together each wire that need to be soldered together. With this figured out, next will be splicing this together on my work bench in the next couple days, then hopefully testing on the bike soon after that. </div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Labeled to make splicing easier at the work bench</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
With the wiring needing to make a trip to my workshop, I decided to start another one of my long awaited projects, the RS250 forks. If you've read about this build you know that I have a custom Aprilia RS125 front end already on TT which is nice as it greatly improved my front brake setup, however it had no adjustability. Lucky for me we recently acquired three Aprilia RS250's and one of them came with a spare MK1 front end which appeared similar in dimensions to the RS125 and has some adjustments available. I managed to swap the RS125 to the RS250 pretty easily and the RS125 wheel even uses the same size axel! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
A few things to work thru on this upgrade are the RS125 caliper no longer lines up, there is an extra caliper mount, and the RS125 fender doesn't fit. Next up will be test fitting an RS250 caliper and fender to see if they will mount up with the RS125 wheel and slightly narrower configuration of the forks. </div>

<a href="http://www.bayareatwostroke.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3908">With all the Aprilia RS250 buying we've been doing lately</a> it has provided us a bunch of extra parts including this MK1 RS250 front end. This front end included a front wheel, but we most likely won't be using that. So why is this front end important you may ask? Well it shares measurements with the similar era RS125 front end that currently resides on my personal RS50 TT. The benefits of this front end over the current RS125 front end installed should be obvious, the adjustability and black color. I've already measured and it will fit in the triple clamps and the axel is also the same measurement so it shouldn't be too difficult to swap over. A few issues will be the front fender mounts being different and the extra caliper mount, but it may be worth the effort long term.<br />
<br />
This will be added to the long list of items still on the upgrade list for TT:<br />
-RS250 Forks (Have Parts)<br />
-Speedo, Tach, Temp (RS125, KOSO? Still undecided)<br />
-Domino Throttle and switch gear (Have Parts)<br />
-Ti frame bolts (Have Parts)<br />
-Rear braided line (Have Parts)<br />
-GP top triple clamp<br />
-RFID ignition<br />
-Silencer Mount<br />
-Headlight<br />
-Rear mud guard</div>

Changed out the leaky fork seal on TT which is a 2004 Aprilia RS50 sporting a fully custom adapted Aprilia RS125 front end. The forks were just overhauled earlier this year for the 2 stroke extravaganza show and go so I was puzzled how the seal gave up the ghost so fast. </div>

Picked up the replacement seal from my local Aprilia Dealer, Scuderia West, where Bob always helps me find and order bits for my rare Aprilia machines! Next up was some Motul 15 wt fork oil from SF Moto where everyone knows my name. Then Cycle Gear for the seal driver. Sounds like a lot of travel, but they are all within a mile of each other and keeping local shops open is something I try my best to support.</div>

This project Aprilia RS50 has flown from Bats LA to Bats San Jose to Bats SF where it will be taken completely apart to repair a broken mount and then reassembled to roam the local kart tracks once again.</div>

Yesterday I picked up the cheapest Aprilia RS250's in the world! The catch? They are in pieces! The bikes took up all the space I had in the the back of the BATS van. I can't wait to start building the first bike which will be for trackway duties along side the VR46 Honda RS250. Stay tuned!</div>

Finally did my final checks and TT made it off the table and onto the road! Kept it under 8k for a short ride to the gas station and then my parking spot. Managed to get the temp up to the top of the blue so I'm happy with the first ride.
<br />
<br />
First impression is the torque on the new TP85 kit is great. It's easily pulling 14/44 gearing around at low to mid RPM's and the front brake makes 1 finger modulation easy. Suspension feels solid and balanced. The carb will need a little tuning after another break in run to lean out the mixture.
