Had a little time to spend on the bats racing 65 today so the first order of business was to mount the 12" supermoto wheels. Included with the wheel was a sweet slider setup for the front and back where the back replaces the chain adjuster and the front replaces one of the fork guard bolts. Really nice custom made setup. The wheels also had smaller race rotors attached and the aluminum sprocket! The adjustable factory works marzocchi front forks went on also. motul oil change, regina racing chain, motil coolant, and fresh premix finished off the work today. The bike now looks the part of road racer, but before taking it on the track I have to get some heavier springs for the forks and rear shock.

A few more looks at the KTM 65sx before it begins its transformation to motard track day and eventually 24 hours race bike! 12 inch wheels with supermoto tires, axel sliders, fully adjustable front forks, and the little bits that are currently missing have all been ordered already!

Bats 24 Hour Race Bike!

So with our intention of racing in the 24 hour race in September, I have been on the hunt for a 2003 and up KTM 65 that can better compete with the 125 4 strokes in our class and finally managed to find one for a steal of a price. The bike has been siting and needs some TLC, but it runs and will make a good base for our motard build.

Parts already ordered for the build are 12inch wheels and tires, shift lever, and some sweet fully adjustable front forks. Stay tuned for more of the Bats endurance racer build up!

Factory Scoot

Picked up this sweet Aprilia SR50 Factory scooter from my brother from another mother and had a chance to take it for a spin yesterday.

Cooking Cases

Split the cases at CN Racing for the bats race bike and it was time to cook the cases. Using the roaster pan to heat up the cases will help release all the bearings which will be replaced along with all the seals.

Race Bike Update

Had a little time to spend on the Bats Race bike today!

First up was replacing the stock speedo drive on the front wheel with a simple spacer to reduce drag.

T managed to navigate 5 laps around the park on his Ducati today!

Race Bodywork

The race bodywork has just landed in the hands of master painter Gyver! What color will a bats bike be, black of course!

Control

Finished mounting up the hand controls which include woodcraft clipons, domino grips, domino roller bearing throttle, stock rs50 domino clutch lever, cagiva mito master cylinder with 748 adjustable lever, and a simple kill button. Also mounted the 99-01 rs50 radiator with modified inlet hose and pressure cap.

We managed to dig up a few pieces for the race bike today, looks like we have most of what we need.
