More oil pics

Old oil out

Although the manual calls for 75/90 I’m going with some authentic racing oil from Honda 80/85W
Poured in exactly the same OZ’s as I drained out and checked the level after filled.
All done with the oil change and did a little wipedown, but I’m gonna need to do a full cleaning before reinstalling the rear wheel.

Max Oil Change

With the rear wheel removed it was time to change the gear oil.

Drain bolt is so much easier to access with the rear wheel removed!
So is the fill hole and dipstick!
Original oil still looks ok!

More from Max

Needed to use something to hold up the front end after taking off the wheel, so the Bats box settles in

Wheels off and new tires and stems ready!
FYI, it’s reccomended to replace deez nutz that hold on the front and rear wheel after removal so I called my local Aprilia dealer to order.

Mounted the tire, installed the aluminum valve stem, and gave it a wipe down. Looks like new!

With the help of my son to lend a couple hands, I reinstalled the front wheel and new tire sans the nut.

Max gets a lot of love today!

Had more time to spend on the Max yearly service today and am nearing completion!
Zapped the wheels off as I have brand new Mitas MC16 tires and aluminium valve stems witing to go on.

Front wheel needs a 19mm Zap
Rear wheel takes a 24mm Zap while holding the rear brake!

To get the rear wheel off as easily as possible the caliper and pipe need to come off. Nice that Aprilia Made access to the bolts easy, you can see the T handle fits under the airbox to access the top bolt.

Pipe off and wheel is ready to come off
Caliper set aside.

Max drive

Swapped out the rollers, drive belt, and air filter! A quick test ride revealed a little higher revving CVT now! Holds at about 9k instead of 8.2k

New look

Decided to leave the black plastic cover off after swapping the belt and rollers.

Max gets his wings

Went all MotoGP on Max with the winglets!

Maximun Drive

Max has been the everyday school pickup scoot for my son for the entire school year this year so with summer approaching it's time to get some maintenance done so its ready for next year! The plan as of now is refresh and inspect the CVT components, gear oil, air filter, spark plug, tires, and air injection filter.

Got a delivery from AF1 today with a few goodies to help complete the maintenance. Malousy air filter, piaggio drive belt, Polini 5gm rollers, and the buzzetti tool.

Graphics to the Max!

I've done about as much as I can with the graphics, but I still feel its missing something. I have the red aero wings on order and I'm thinking the red belly pan may be next after that.
